A very pleasant space to eat
and relax, Socrates Greek Taverna welcomes you with its
abundance of live plants, hardwood floors, and original art
mural adorning one wall. Our table had 10 people, and
we dined quite late (around 8pm on a Tuesday night) so we
pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. Located very
close to SFU, this restaurant packs great value for the
dollar for hungry university students, but is also regularly
frequented by large private banquets due to its ample space.
Compared with other Greek restaurants in the area, Socrates
prices are noticeably lower, and yet the quality of the food
was not lacking. Definitely make Socrates Greek Taverna your
dining destination if you're in the mood for some really
mouth-watering flavours but don't want to break the bank.

Ortikia
(Quail)
"Two quails
seasoned with herbs & spices & then broiled.
Served with Greek salad, rice, roasted potatoes,
tzatziki & pita bread." ($12.95)
Quail had excellent
seasonings, however it was frustrating to eat because
of all the bones.

Greek
Salad (side
dish)
Quite a large and nicely
presented salad for a side dish. Included with
the Veal Parmesan (pictured below).
Tasted very fresh - the
feta cheese was not too strong.

Veal
Parmesan.
"Tender veal
cutlet topped with sauce, melted mozzarella &
parmesan cheese. Served with roasted potatoes &
rice or spaghetti, salad & garlic bread."
($12.95)
Cheese and veal were
tender and bursting with flavor.
This came with the
Greek Salad shown above (the lettuce pictured was just a garnish).
