As the popular children's
saying goes, "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice
cream!" I don't know about you, but whenever I see a Dairy
Queen I immediately think of some refreshing, cool ice
cream. But contrary to my first impression, I discovered
that Dairy Queen means much more than just ice cream, when I
visited their location on Hastings near Gilmore.
When I walked in, I
immediately noticed the pleasant, no nonsense fast food
atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the staff who were hard at
work serving up quick and tasty meals for the many
customers. While waiting to order I couldn't help but recall
the mouth watering TV advertisements about their bacon and cheese grill burger, so I decided to order one.
Sometimes my inner health-conscious voice loses out when the
opportunity of eating something so delicious is presented.
Besides, I was in a rush, and of course we all know that
when it comes to food, there is often a tradeoff between
healthiness and time.?
I am on a low fiber diet, so
I asked for the burger plain, and this special request
didn't cause any problems. Furthermore I was impressed that the
friendly lady who took my order was the restaurant owner, and
after I told her about my special diet she even asked if I wanted the butter removed from the bun.?
In regards to other special diet requirements, this particular Dairy Queen had a large sign that reads,
"if you have any food allergies please notify staff prior to ordering". When I questioned the owner about this policy and other special needs, she responded
that ?we will give the customer what they want?.?
Overall I was pleased with the service
at Dairy Queen. The burger was easy to eat and was sure tasty, but
as I left, feeling quite full, I knew something was missing.
The next time I will definitely get an ice cream cone to top off a great fast food meal! Reviewed by: Kevin Freeman
