I went to this restaurant on a Wednesday during lunchtime with a friend. Although this is the only Montana’s that I’ve ever visited, from what I understand, the corporate “look” of the restaurants in the chain are identical. It’s a Western/cowboy type themed place that is also “kid friendly”.
As the place was that busy, we were seated pretty quickly and our server brought us water and drinks after a few minutes. One unique thing I noticed was that all the servers seemed to be required to write their names on the paper tablecloths in crayon. They are able to do this standing up and writing upside down, which appears right side up to patrons. It’s kinda corny, but a nice touch nonetheless.
They have a list of lunch specials, which during lunchtime, are guaranteed to be served to you within 15 minutes or it’s free. I had the soup, salad, half sandwich and my friend had the beef brisket sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was a chicken club and my choice of soup was chicken noodle and a caesar salad.
Lunch arrived in under 10 minutes. The sandwich was good, not great. The soup and salad were just okay, a little on the small side. The salad had too much dressing for my taste. My friend’s beef brisket sandwich looked good and apparently tasted even better.
Service was prompt, but other than bringing our drinks, food and then the bill, that was about the extent of it, which was fine with us as we just wanted to eat and then leave. Total bill was about $27, which included lunch, one pop and tax plus tip.
I have been to this Montana’s several times before while living in Port Coquitlam and each and every time, my dining experience has been consistent, if not spectacular. I would recommend this location if you are looking for a decent casual dining experience.
