Nagano has high quality food and generous portion sizes which make up for their
slightly higher prices. You even get a lot of garnish, and in my experience so far, their ingredients have always
been very fresh. The best deal here is the lunch box, which unfortunately, is only
served on weekdays (for dinner or lunch). I find that one box is actually too much
food for just one person. They are also open 'till midnight which is unusual for the
Coquitlam area.
A drawback of the restaurant is its small size. You may have to wait 15 to 30
minutes during the dinner rush. Later in the evening, sometimes things get a little
rowdy, mainly because of patrons having a tad too much sake at the sushi bar.
Service is certainly not lacking, but the waitresses are sometimes extremely busy. There is an outdoor patio, but it
is not heated and faces a street and a mall. Besides these little quibbles,
Nagano is still one of my favorite restaurants in the tri-cities area. Be sure to visit them on a weekday to take advantage of their lunch box special. Reviewed by: Wai-Kay Ho Ching
