Capones is a great looking restaurant in the heart of Yaletown. We decided to go there for lunch upon a friend's recommendation. I was not let down, as the inside of Capones is trendy and contemporary.
Since I have special low-fibre dietary need, I always check if I can order straight from the menu or if I have to make a special request. Upon a quick glance at the menu, I decided to order the Prawn and Scallop Penne ($9.99) without any vegetables or garnish. My friends ordered two other pasta dishes ($9.99).
The waiter was personable and all three meals arrived and looked great and my friends commented on the great taste. However my dish did arrive with garnish and artichokes and the second time with garnish. Although I can tolerate garnish I prefer to not have it. The waiter was apologetic and said that it usually does not occur and adjusted the cheque accordingly. After following up with with one of Capones staff via phone I was assured that this was an isolated incident and that they do cater to people with special dietary needs.
Overall, Capones is a nice restaurant with excellent service and tasty food. I will definitely go back at night to listen to the jazz bands, as Capones is known as a hot spot in town for live music.
