3 apples, cut into small pieces
grapes, about 30 or so, cut in half
½ cup (125 mL) walnuts, chopped
1 cup (250 mL) good sherry or cherry liqueur
sprigs of mint, to garnish
|
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients into a bowl and pour the sherry or liqueur over the top

- Spoon it into individual serving bowls and top with mint sprigs, to garnish.
This is an old recipe that makes me think of childhood holidays. It's a paradox of a recipe—light, yet heavy, simple but exotic. You could make this any time of year to make any occasion special. I've always had this as an appetizer, but it would make an even better dessert.
