UVA - Directly from the Press Release
Vancouver, October 23, 2008 – For those who are seeking the ambience of an European espresso bar or café in the heart of downtown Vancouver – a place to relax or to re-fuel, a perfect rendezvous spot with friends or just the ideal place to watch the hustle and bustle of our wonderful city – UVA is a “must stop” in one’s morning routine. Under the expert guidance of Sebastien Le Goff (formerly of Lumiere and CinCin restaurants) and General Manager, Sahara Tamarin (formerly of Chow and Lumiere restaurants), UVA is now open during the day as an Italian inspired Espresso Bar reminiscent of those in Milan, Venice or Rome, open Mondays through Fridays from 7 am to 2 pm. With barista Michele Molinari, born in Verona, Italy – authentic Italian service and quality is guaranteed. Moreover, with specialty equipment – such as the Synesso espresso machine (1 of only 2 in BC), only the best beverages are served. Vancouverites may enjoy dark, rich coffees – espressos, cappuccinos, lattes or mochas – made with premium imported, organic beans from 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters. And patrons can settle in at the granite bar or marble bistro tables designed by acclaimed Smart Design Group. For a scrumptious bite, UVA also has an assortment of wonderful croissants, danishes, and biscotti for a light breakfast meal. And at lunch, UVA serves a simple, yet flavorful menu comprised of hearty soups, light salads, and mouth-watering paninis. For those in a hurry, take something to-go in environmentally friendly packaging. Directly from the Press Release:
O’Doul’s pays tribute to the ‘Incredible Jazz Guitar’ of Wes Montgomery
ROBSON STREET: Wes Montgomery (1925-1968) is considered the greatest of modern jazz guitarists. To many, Montgomery’s playing defines jazz guitar and his is the sound that many try to emulate. He was a virtuoso renowned for his technically incredible feats, but what really made you stop and listen was the fire and deep soul with which he performed.
Both guitarists will be accompanied by bass player Russ Botten and his trio.
WHERE: O’Doul’s Restaurant & Bar
