On Sunday September 7th, 2008 Howie’s Bistro and Bar are having a laughter without a prescription comedy night with Bart Healey. Cobre Restaurant are hosting a winery dinner: Directly from the press release: Tucked away in the Andes lies Chile’s Casablanca Valley, home of Vinedos Organicos Emiliana S.A., Chile’s foremost organic/biodynamic wine producer. On September 24th, Vancouverites will experience the rare opportunity to sample a variety of Emiliana’s wines under the expert guidance of Fernando Pavon Mediano, Export Manager USA and Canada for Emiliana Wines, at a special wine-maker dinner co-hosted by Cobre with Diamond Estate Wines and Spirits. “We are honoured to be asked to showcase Emiliana’s wines with our style of nuevo Latino food,” says Jason Kelly, Cobre’s Beverage Program Manager. “Stuart’s dishes really complement the complexities of the wines.” Lucky attendees will be treated to a five-course tour-de-force dinner with Chef Stuart Irving and Snr. Mediano discussing the flavours and pairings along the way. Wines to look for include Adobe Chardonnay, Novas Cabernet/Carmenere, Adobe Syrah, Coyam Syrah/Cabernet/Carmenere/Merlot/Petite Verdot, and the Concha y Toro Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc.
