Directly from the press release: VANCOUVER, BC, October 3, 2008: The Hopscotch Festival returns in 2008 as Canada’s biggest whisky and premium beer festival with many new and exciting changes on hand. The Hopscotch Festival has grown immensely to become a world renowned Whisky and Beer festival which prides itself on emphasizing the education and history presented by connoisseurs in this year’s festival. The week long event, November 11- 16th, 2008 brings industry experts and brand ambassadors from all over the world into Vancouver to celebrate, the “water of life”. The satellite events will be held in and across Vancouver, including (but not limited to) Gotham Steakhouse, The Shebeen, The Molson Brewery, and Coast Restaurant. The Grand Tasting Hall, Hopscotch’s main event, will be open for 2 nights, Thursday November 13th, from 6pm- 10pm, and Friday November 14th, also from 6pm -10pm. The Grand Tasting Hall is a large scale tasting held at the Rocky Mountaineer Railstation and is for those wanting the opportunity to taste some of the 200+ products available to be sampled. New for 2008 is the inclusion of select premium spirits including several brands of Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Rum, and Liqueur. Tickets to the Grand Tasting Hall are $40 and include 5 sampling tokens.
