“Seeing as how we are in Gastown, we are well aware that there are many people who are less fortunate than us and our customers. Because of the economic downturn, we know the Food Bank is suffering. We just want to help,” says Cobre co-owner Tyson Reimer.

Mr. Reimer, along with his partners Jason Kelly and Chef Stuart Irving, is challenging the other restaurants in Gastown to join them in supporting the Food Bank. “It would be great if this became a neighbourhood thing and all our colleagues got behind the idea.”

“When we looked into it, we found out that the Food Bank can leverage every dollar they receive by three times. That means that our donation will triple in value and allow them to purchase the items that they really need.” Cobre is hoping to raise between $1000 to $3000 on the one evening.
