Whistler Cornucopia offers a feast for the senses

Whistler’s Cornucopia offers a feast for the senses. Renowned as a world-class destination resort, Whistler is consistently praised and recognized for offering guests the best and most in accommodations, ski runs, outdoor activities, and of course, restaurants and exquisite fine dining.
Every November the resort hosts Cornucopia: Whistler's Celebration of Wine and Food. Cornucopia is Whistler’s trademark horn of plenty and is always set to overflow with tastings, seminars, and parties showcasing the diversity of the resort’s epicurean scene as well as its nous for throwing a world-class party.
Cornucopia provides a unique opportunity to mingle, mix and learn from acclaimed chefs, sommeliers and restaurateurs visiting Whistler just for this special celebration. Be enticed by Cornucopia’s trademark events, including elegant Winemaker’s Dinners, intimate seminars, extravagant after-parties and the Crush! Grand Gala Tasting.

Crush! is the pièce de résistance of the festival. The evening begins by preparing the palate at one of Whistler’s many participating restaurants for a succulent gourmet meal. Then head to the Grand Tasting Room for a heady assortment of wines from 75 participating wineries. The sublime ambiance of Crush! is definitely something to be experienced. Imagine a room aglow with moonlight, colour and lively music. It’s where locals, visitors, and wine & food industry insiders share fascinating conversation, laughs and memorable wines. But even with two Crush! events, tickets will sell out fast.
Of course Cornucopia will again feature a host of unique winemaker dinners for 2008. These popular events see a world-class Whistler restaurant partner with one winery to create a sumptuous multi-course feast where wine and food are selectively paired for a dining experience that’s unparalleled. Chat with the chef or discuss the various wines with the winery’s on-hand expert. Winemaker dinners are the perfect marriage of glamour and intimacy.

Another returning festival favourite is the Chef’s Trip to the Farm, where guests accompany a master chef on a trip to a farm in Pemberton for a look at local produce and some home-cooked goodness. But let’s not forget the fabulous after-parties, trade tasting, the intimate Chef’s Table Luncheon Series, wine seminars and closing brunches. It would be impossible to do it all, so you’ve got to be choosy. Do you want to learn about Pinot Noirs while savouring the best varietals from the Pacific Coast, or sample some rare wines in a fascinating seminar? Decisions, decisions!
