Food Vancouver Select Guide: Granville Island Dining

This time the Food Vancouver Select Guide takes you on a culinary journey through Granville Island. An amazing spot so close to the city centre. There are activities such as a public market, arts and entertainment, shopping, recreation, things for the kids to do and much more.
Dining wise the market has cuisine for everyone, from food stalls inside the market to various restaurants throughout the island. The following is a list of a few places for you to try:
The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant: A 300-seat restaurant in the heart of Granville Island with its very own sushi bar, earning bragging rights as a fresh seafood restaurant. Their unique, second-floor patio right beneath the Granville Street Bridge, overlooking the False Creek and the perfect spot to soak in the sun, people-watch, and enjoy some of Vancouver’s freshest seafood. At the entrance is Hoshi’s Sushi Bar, one of Vancouver’s best kept secrets. Open 7 days a week from 5:30pm onwards, Master Sushi Chef Hoshi makes the freshest sushi to order. Featuring live music every night, the Teredo Lounge transforms into a trendy piano bar from Sunday to Thursday nights. Offering a variety of local brew, the lounge at Sandbar is an exciting place to listen to live music, enjoy fresh tapas and meet great people.
Bridges Restaurant: Award winning restaurant features rich wood panels and wall to ceiling windows while serving up fresh seafood and meats in a dining room and on the patio.

Edible Canada Bistro: The newest restaurant at Granville Island. Created by Eric Pateman this bistro will showcase everything that is great about British Columbia's cuisine.
Bistro 101: Experience first class service and dining while enjoying a three-course menu prepared by our talented Culinary and Baking & Pastry Arts students. Why not try their Market Menus offered Monday - Thursday. Three course set menu lunch for $18.00 and dinner for $24.00. West Coast Buffet offered on Friday $20.00 for lunch and $30.00 for dinner.
Tony's Fish and Oyster Cafe: Great fish and chips. Always busy so you might have to wait.
Afghan Horsemen Restaurant: Known for its delectable Afghani cuisine, intriguing ambience, and great customer service
The Keg Steakhouse and Bar: Enjoy delicious seafood, memorable appetizers, crisp salads and decadent desserts and of course their steaks.
Dockside Restaurant: Floor to ceiling windows featuring a waterfront view of the Vancouver skyline provide a great setting to enjoy brilliantly prepared Pacific Northwest cuisine. The recently renovated Dockside Restaurant is just 5 minutes from downtown Vancouver and offers a restaurant, patio, bar, lounge, and micro-brewery.

We hoped you enjoyed your journey and perhaps you may wish to visit other neighbourhoods such as Yaletown or Robson Street.
